DLH and HORNBACH Lay the Foundation for the Completion of the “Industrial Campus Vienna East,” Austria’s Largest Logistics Campus
Yesterday, a ceremonial groundbreaking took place for the development of the final phase of the “Industrial Campus Vienna East” in Enzersdorf an der Fischa.
After a total of seven years of construction, divided into three major phases and featuring approximately 170,000 m² of warehouse space built for high-quality logistics operations, this pioneering project is now complete.
This final construction phase is a classic brownfield development, for which a spinning mill built there over 30 years ago was demolished.
As much of the demolition material as possible is being reused for the new construction, thereby keeping it in the economic cycle. Goldbeck Rhomberg was once again commissioned as the general contractor.
DGNB Gold certification and the use of a biomass heating system round out the sustainability efforts at this modern logistics site!
The entire “Alpha 5” warehouse complex, with a total usable area of 38,000 m² including mezzanine, office, and social spaces, was leased to HORNBACH AG even before construction began, allowing the company to further expand its long-standing presence at this location. Completion and handover of the warehouses are scheduled for June 2024.
Christian Vogt, Managing Director of DLH Real Estate Austria GmbH, commented:
“We are very proud to have realized this flagship project for the Austrian logistics market in Enzersdorf and are thus consistently continuing on the path of sustainable development!”
“I am very pleased that we have once again successfully completed a new strategic project for Hornbach with our long-standing partner DLH. Hornbach has been active on the Enzersdorf campus since 2019, but due to growth and functional expansions, its operations have so far been spread across several warehouses, some of which are not contiguous. Leasing the new Hall 5 offers Hornbach Logistics a unique opportunity to consolidate its space, thereby creating opportunities for increased efficiency and self-directed growth,” says Dr. Olaf Reese, a member of Hornbach Logistics’ top management responsible for real estate projects, among other things.
