Farewell to Dr. Malte-Maria Münchow

Last night, we said goodbye to Dr. Malte-Maria Münchow – known among insiders simply as "3M" – in an intimate gathering. On 31 July 2026, after almost 19 years, he leaves DEKA and enters official retirement, which is likely to be anything but quiet.

An outstanding success story for DLH Austria

For DLH Austria, this farewell was a moment of gratitude, as Managing Director Christian Vogt explained in his speech: "Malte was the first to believe in our team and in the potential of the Austrian logistics real estate market, and to invest here on a large scale. That early trust has grown into a genuine success story: over the past eight years, we have sold a total of more than 300,000 square metres of logistics space to DEKA."

People at the heart of it

Looking back on his years as an acquisitions manager for logistics, hotel and retail properties, what counted for him in the end was less the numbers and "deals" than the people: "The personal side of our industry – rightly known as a 'people business' – has always mattered more to me than the bare figures," Dr. Malte-Maria Münchow emphasises. "So a big thank you goes to everyone who accompanied me along the way and made this time so exciting and so positive."

Dr. Münchow will remain active in the industry – both as a consultant and as a board member and spokesperson of the Logix Initiative.

We at DLH Austria thank Dr. Malte-Maria Münchow for his trust, his unwavering belief in our work and the many inspiring conversations as equals!

We wish him all the very best for this new chapter in his life!
