“Bremer Kreuz Logistics Campus” Opens for Business;
Project Developer DLH Sells New Building to LIP Invest
The “Bremer Kreuz Logistics Campus” at Von-Thünen-Straße 12 was officially opened yesterday, Thursday, in a festive ceremony attended by the management of Deutsche Logistik Holding and the new owner, LIP Invest. Since the official groundbreaking last August, the modern logistics center was completed in less than nine months—earlier than planned—and was sold even before construction was finished.
Spanning a total site area of 33,500 m², the logistics campus was sustainably planned as a brownfield development according to the latest standards. The logistics property, with a total leasable area of 20,600 m², was designed to accommodate multiple users by dividing it into two units and is certified to DGNB Gold status. A photovoltaic system was installed on the roof, enabling the logistics property to meet climate protection targets even before the target year of 2050. The self-generated solar power can be used, for example, to operate the electric charging stations at the car and bicycle parking spaces.
The production warehouse offers flexible delivery options: In total, the building features six ground-level access gates and eight loading docks with loading bridges. On one side of the hall, there is also an 800 m² covered loading and unloading area, as well as nine additional parking spaces for trucks. Optionally, ten additional truck docking stations can be added to Unit 1.
Grand Opening
Following welcoming remarks by the two managing directors of DLH, Felix Zilling and Christoph Telker, and the buyer’s managing director, Bodo Hollung, the symbolic red ribbon was cut, officially opening the campus. “By Bremeners, for Bremeners, in Bremen”—that’s how one could sum up this project. We are therefore particularly pleased to be standing here today to celebrate the inauguration of our project on Von-Thünen-Straße at the Bremer Kreuz. When people think of logistics, many think of it as dirty and noisy. But as we have demonstrated here, it can also be beautiful and sustainable. We are all the more pleased that this project has allowed us to strengthen Bremen as a business location in a long-term and sustainable way. We wish both the new operator and our long-term strategic partner LIP, as the new owner, every success and much enjoyment with the new property,” reports Felix Zilling.
Christoph Telker adds: “We are very pleased to have finally developed the site and handed it over on schedule after just nine months of construction. Thanks to the constructive collaboration, we were able to fully meet our tenant’s requirements and achieve DGNB Gold status. The photovoltaic system installed on the roof will support us in achieving our CO2 reduction goals in the future. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the project for this great team effort. We wish the tenant smooth operations at all times and continued success for the future.”
The Bremer Kreuz industrial park is a major transportation hub located within the city limits of Bremen and Achim. With direct access to the A1 (Hamburg, Osnabrück/Ruhr region) and A27 (Bremerhaven/Hanover), it is very well connected in terms of transportation and stands out for its excellent public transit links.
“Bremen is one of the most important logistics hubs in Germany—for both imports and exports—and is heavily influenced by the automotive industry. In addition, however, companies from the food and industrial sectors ensure a steady demand for suitable space. We are therefore pleased that, with the strategically located ‘Logistikcampus Bremer Kreuz’ and the immediate lease to an industrial company, we have been able to secure our fifth logistics property in Bremen for our fund,” concludes Bodo Hollung, Partner and Managing Director at LIP Invest.
