The cornerstone for the new Wittenburg Logistics Campus was laid

Yesterday, in the presence of Mayor Christian Greger, the cornerstone for the new Wittenburg Logistics Campus was ceremoniously laid. Over the next few months, approximately 30,500 m² of logistics warehouses and office space will be constructed across three warehouse sections on a site covering approximately 75,200 m².

The property is within sight of the A24 highway and offers optimal transportation links between Hamburg and all southeastern German states. The new building will meet all the requirements of a modern logistics campus and feature several ESG highlights. Among other things, the roofs will be fully equipped with a photovoltaic system, enabling CO2-neutral operation in conjunction with a heat pump. In addition to the “old” KFW 55 standard, the project also aims to achieve DGNB Gold certification.

During the ceremonial groundbreaking, Christoph Telker, Managing Director of DLH, emphasized: “We are very pleased to be able to celebrate today’s groundbreaking together with the city and our partners. The on-schedule start of construction at the end of last year was an important milestone for this ambitious project. This campus further solidifies our expansion activities in the far north.  The trusting and constructive collaboration with representatives of the city of Wittenburg is a very good example of sustainable and open communication.”

Felix Zilling, Managing Director of DLH, adds: “The Wittenburg Logistics Campus underscores the attractiveness of the location, which is in close proximity to the highway. Supply chains in Germany are becoming increasingly complex, and user demands for logistics real estate are rising exponentially. With our new multi-user Wittenburg Logistics Campus, we are optimally supplementing the extremely limited supply of available logistics space in the region.”

“We are pleased to have found a professional investor and developer of logistics real estate in DLH, which is now bringing the Wittenburg Logistics Center to life. This will create additional jobs, generate revenue, and drive the development of our city,” explains Mayor Christian Greger.

The first construction supports will be delivered and installed at the end of March. Completion of the logistics project is scheduled for late 2023/early 2024.
